No passwords, ever
There are no passwords transmitted anywhere on this network. Not hashed-and-salted-very-carefully. None. That's a deliberate design decision, and it's the clearest example of what "sovereign identity" actually means in practice.
A citizen or a business registers a reserved, lifelong USN identity from a phone and an authenticator. Proving who you are is a cryptographic challenge — something your device answers — not a shared secret you type into a box that can be phished, reused across ten sites, or spilled in someone else's breach. The most common way accounts get taken over simply isn't on the table, because the thing that gets stolen doesn't exist.
On top of that sits tiered KYC/KYB. You start able to browse. You unlock capability — receiving funds, disbursing, higher limits — as you verify more about yourself. Identity here isn't a single gate you're either through or not; it's a ladder that keeps what you're allowed to do in step with what you've actually proven. A shared phone is fine for looking around; moving real money asks for more.
Why is any of this "sovereign"? Because the identity is issued and controlled locally, reserved for life, and it's the routing key for everything else — money, commerce, compliance all hang off it. The country owns the root of trust. It isn't rented from a platform in another jurisdiction that can revoke it or reprice it.
Honest note: no passwords means the device and recovery experience has to be genuinely excellent, because there's no lazy "forgot password?" link to fall back on. Losing a phone can't mean losing your identity for life. That's a real, ongoing design burden — and I'd rather carry it than ship the phishable thing everyone already knows how to break.
